About Me
I am a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, working with Prof. Yew-Soon Ong. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) in June 2025, where I was supervised by Prof. Aaron Chen, Prof. Hui Ma, and Prof. Mengjie Zhang.
Prior to my Ph.D., I obtained my M.S. in Logistics Engineering from Central South University (CSU), supervised by Prof. Jinjun Tang. I received my B.Eng. in Logistics Engineering from Shaanxi University of Science & Technology, China.
💖 Research Interests
My current research focuses on AI for Intelligent Manufacturing, with a particular interest in intelligent scheduling, optimization, and decision-making for complex manufacturing systems. I develop learning- and search-based approaches, including Reinforcement Learning (RL), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Genetic Programming Hyper-Heuristics (GPHH), to improve the adaptivity, generalization, and efficiency of manufacturing decision-making.
- Artificial Intelligence: Reinforcement Learning, Large Language Models, Evolutionary Computation, and Genetic Programming Hyper-Heuristics
- Optimization and Decision-Making: Scheduling, Resource Allocation, and Learning to Optimize
- Applications: Intelligent Manufacturing and Cloud Computing
I welcome remote collaborations with researchers and practitioners working on related topics. Please feel free to contact me at yang.yifan@ntu.edu.sg.
